2018 Shooting Sports MBs Makeup Day
Did you (a Scout) or one of your Scouts (if you are an Adult Leader) complete part of any one of the
- Archery,
- Rifle Shooting, or
- Shotgun Shooting
Merit Badges (MBs) at Winter Camp OR at a previous Summer Camp? If so, read on ....
The Circle Ten Shooting Sports Committee will be holding a Merit Badge Completion Day for all Scouts needing to complete the Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, or Archery Merit Badges. It is for any Scout who has uncompleted requirements from any of these Shooting Sport MBs from this Winter Camp, or past Winter/Summer Camps. Registered MB Counselors for these MBs will be on hand to check off completion of any uncompleted requirements a Scout may have on these MBs. The session will be Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 starting at 8:00 am at Camp Wisdom. [Note: This is NOT for a Scout to start a new MB!!]
Note: Requirements other than just the shooting proficiency requirements can be worked on at this event, but this is not a Merit Badge class, so no class room instruction of the requirements will be done at the event. The Scout needs to come already knowing the information or knowledge for the requirement. It will be an opportunity for him to discuss/show/demonstrate what is needed for a the specific requirement to be signed off.
Note: If a Scout is shooting for any of the scoring proficiency requirements, he will need to bring documentation of any previously completed portions of the requirement, or else he will have to complete the entire requirement at the event!
IMPORTANT: A Scout must sign up for the event in order to attend. To do this, go to http://C10ShootingSports.org, click on the “Calendar” or “Events List” menu, and then click on the event you want to sign up for. On this page is a link to a Google Form that needs to be filled out completely. Once that is done and saved, the Scout will be registered for the event. Don’t just show up for the event — if no one registers for the event, there will be no one from the committee there to help!
